Back with another message from our growing community here in Laurel that we’re calling a Koinonia. Koinonia is used a few times in the New Testament and it means “community,” but more than that it’s not just a random group of people thrown together but a group that supports and cares for one another and that gathers with purpose. And, really, that’s all we’re trying to do. So if you’re around Laurel and Jones County come join us. And if not, we could use all the prayers you’ve got as we figure out what it means to be a weird little group of people with a weird name doing church in some weird ways without a building or a bank account, just a few chairs, our voices, and the communion elements someone volunteers to bring each week.
On Sunday we talked about part of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus reframes a host of rules for the folks listening to him and following him and invites them to adapt these rules in ways that bring the Kingdom to life. Let me know what you think!
Matthew 5:33-48
