In today’s Bible study, we continue through the Gospel of John with John 3:22–36 in a message titled, “He Must Become Greater.”
When John the Baptist learns that people are leaving his ministry to follow Jesus, he does not respond with jealousy or competition. Instead, he rejoices because he understands that his purpose was always to point people toward Christ.
Together, we will learn how to overcome comparison, accept the purpose God has given us, place Jesus above our pride and desire for recognition, and understand what it truly means to believe in the Son and receive eternal life.
We will also focus on three important devotional truths:
• John 3:27 — Receive Your Assignment Without Comparison • John 3:30 — He Must Become Greater • John 3:36 — Believe in the Son and Live
