So far I love it. I have been a MW fan for two decades. I am really "working" the program. It contains 14 Lessons. Of hand it mentions that it is a lesson per day. The first lesson has taken me a month to date and I still have a few more words to work through. There are a list of emotions to release. You are supposed to choose those that apply. Of course, they all apply. I spend about 30 minutes journaling on each. I do one word per day. There are about 28 words. After a couple of weeks I realized I was doing the mental work but not the emotional release. Now I am going back over the list and really allowing myself to feel the feelings, express them (privately), surrender them. It is really working. I am feeling it lift off my shoulders. I have been able to modify my diet.

This book was life-changing for me, a binge eater for decades. I could have spent thousands of dollars on therapy about why I have binged all these years, but Marianne Williamson explained it in this book, in easy to understand terms. I have recently read several other books she has written and so appreciate her spiritual approach to life. This Course in Weight Loss has spiritual messages, but it is not Christian or any specific religious tone. Williamson uses quotes from A Course in Miracles, she quotes from religious texts, she encourages readers to turn over their problems to Spirit. But there is such amazing psychology to this book. I've lost weight in the past but gained it back, and Williamson writes about getting to the root of the "problem" because this will happen again and again. It's all about loving yourself, about forgiveness. I cried several times during the 21 days because the spiritual lessons hit home. "So that's why," is something I finally had answered about why I have done what I've done all these years. The majority of my book is underlined, there are stars near many of the paragraphs and many pages are dog-eared. Each lesson was so powerful that I didn't read ahead, instead letting my spirit mull over and meditate on what I had read. I finished the book and I've read it a second time.
I absolutely love this book! If you don’t take it seriously and don’t do the activities, listed in the book, then yeah it’s not gonna work. Reading a book isn’t going to automatically change your life. You have to be willing to put in work. God will guide the way but you must be willing to do the walking! I’ve lost 75lbs by eating healthy, working out, and trusting that God has a plan for me! 🙏🏼

I found myself surprised at Williamson's insistence that all people who are overweight hate themselves on some level. Among other things, she recommends having the part of you that loves yourself have a conversation with the part of you that hates yourself, in order to offer acceptance and love to the part of you that hates yourself. She asks that you visualize the part of you that hates yourself. It's visualizations and rituals like this that make up the book -- it's not just part of what she recommends, it's all of it. She does not pay attention to habit, environment, exercise, long work hours, etc.; her belief is that if you just accept and love the part of you that hates yourself, everything will fall into place and you will no longer want to eat more than you need for sustenance, and you will miraculously be a perfect weight. There's an attempt to borrow concepts from A Course in Miracles that in my opinion results in a poor translation of the concepts and a poorly done extension of them to the area of health and weight loss.

Have been listening to this in my car while commuting to/from work. That means I have yet to do any writing ... it says to do, which I'm sure would help more however, I lost 10 pounds in the first few weeks by only listening to the tapes! It's a mindset and being more aware of what I'm doing and how to move past that has really helped me. I love how it shows how God can help me with this and some of the sample prayers she says, that I also say out loud with her as I'm driving, has brought me to tears because it helped me realize areas of my life where I apparently was holding onto and needed to let go of them so I could move on. It is also helping me see how I can use the same principals to help with other areas of my life. I also bought the book and do plan on reading it at home where I can do the writing suggestions she has which I know will help me even more. Thank you to all involved in putting this material together and then sharing it with others at a very reasonable price.
