"I worked at my last job. I was always so fussy about how unkept the desks of my colleagues used to be”.
She took a sip from the mug of coffee. “Why not join me”?
“For coffee? No, I already”...
“Please, honey. I wouldn’t take much of your time. Besides, I am soon going to be rushing off for work".
“Okay”. He sat down on the other stool and poured himself some coffee.
She reached across the table and squeezed his hand. “Danny, my darling husband, I am really impressed with how you have been handling things around the house all these past couple of weeks”.
“You mean all the while that I have been unemployed".
“Well, in a way, yes. Yes, since you lost your job”.
“Well, like I told you earlier, it is nothing. I am doing it for us. So I don’t see it as anything. Besides, it keeps me busy and also keeps me in shape".
“Yes. Have you had any luck with your applications"?
“No, not yet. Some of the recruiters that I have been in touch with feel that I am over qualified. They don’t even want to consider me for lesser roles. Others just keep on spinning the same yarn about how they have no vacancies at the moment, that they would let me know whenever there are any."
