Scald Scarlette wants a mate. Not a "till death do us part" mate, although that could certainly be arranged. No, the great dragon needs a very temporary mate - a human mate.
On a bright fall day, the crimson dragon goes hunting for her temporary mate. She searches the countryside, ravaging and burning in frustration when a likely specimen doesn't appear. When she finally finds a man to her taste, she snatches him up and takes him to her lair.
Ivan is a blacksmith, a simple man with small dreams. He quickly realizes that his life is dependent on the dragon's whim. Bargaining with the only thing he has, his body, he finally strikes a deal with the dragon queen. If Ivan can satisfy Scald Scarlette's carnal appetites, he won't have to feed her other, less sensual hungers.
