The Prepper Chronicles

An enigmatic hedge fund manager, Mitch Fleming, purchases a government-funded research facility boondoggle located on 36 square miles in the Idaho National Forest for the value of the timber. Mitch’s new partner, Duncan McFarlane, has a vision to create a prepper paradise and self-contained society within the forests of Idaho called the Retreat. How can their society and preparedness possibly survive the impending economic collapse of America and the ensuing violence as foreign governments come to collect on their outstanding debts? 

The United States is assailed by a deadly pandemic leaving millions of dead in its wake. In a desperate move, the president authorizes the early use of a vaccine to inoculate the military against the insidious, rapidly spreading virus. A dedicated group of preppers and survivalists retreat into a self-contained bugout location in rural Idaho to seal themselves away from the outside environment.
