Alpheus Paget Wilkes (1871-1934) was educated at Oxford before joining the Church Missionary Society in 1897 as a missionary to Japan. In 1903, he cofounded the Japan Evangelistic Band, which was devoted to personal holiness and robust evangelism. His other books include The Dynamic of Faith, The Dynamic of Redemption, and The Dynamic of Life.
