When a plane crash-lands in the middle of Glenville’s town square, a peaceful afternoon in town turns into a fiery scene of chaos and mayhem.
Sixteen years ago, the beloved mayor of Glenville vanished without a trace, leaving behind his wife and two young children. He became the talk of the town, and over time the theories behind his disappearance turned into a sort of folklore. Many believed that he was gone for good. But no one expected that his arrival in the present would send a ripple, disturbing the peace throughout the small community.
In the present, Detective Heather Bishop watches in horror as a plane crash-lands in town square. As the rescuers search for survivors amidst the wreckage, they discover that the body of the pilot is none other than that of the former mayor.
With the help of the town's colorful inhabitants and Roland's family, Heather creates a profile of the mayor's life. Eventually unearthing treacherous secrets, secrets that must quickly be turned over to the Feds.
Planes, illicit liaisons, harpy eagles, and men in black occupy aspects of the mystery. And as Heather adds more details, she fears the final picture might reveal a much bigger conspiracy than even the Feds can handle....
