    An extraordinary book


    A riveting story of Henrietta Lacks and her family, from the plantations of the South to Baltimore, exploring wider themes at the same time: the importance of the HeLa cell lines for medical progress, unethical conduct in medicine, lack of communication and the harm it does, exploitation of patient donors, shoddy legal protection, racism, role of education.
